Hi all!
Just a quick little blog post, as I am recovering from a delightful mixture of heat stress and heartburn, and I am settling in for an early night in front of the TV.
I came back from spending the night in Mandurah (south of Perth for all you non-sand-gropers!) on Tuesday as we were having the floorboards in our kitchen done. There isn't a hell of a lot to do there, except for go to beach and read fashion magazines.
I spotted in Shop Till You Drop, something called Popbasic.
The site does not seem to be fully operational, but you can be added to a mailing list, which is what yours truly have done.
The way I understand it, You go online and add-to-cart two 'basic' items - the staples of your closet (blue jeans, white tees etc) and they send you that, as well as a 'surprise' item, which is meant to bulk up the 'trend' side of your wardrobe, to be added to your old 'boho-chic/sienna-miller' phase and those pair of fluorescent yellow platforms that seemed cool at the time. These three items form 'micro-collections'. The website says that it costs less than 100 dollars a month and shipping is free. Apparently there's no lock-in subscriptions too. Intriguing...
At the moment, everything is quite vague... but you know, I love a mystery. Once its all going, I will give it a shot and let all you lovely people know how it goes!
Check it out at http://popbasic.com

Favourite Purchase #1 - Red Studded Boots
Hi all,
So, I like quirky stuff. What can I say? I'm a strange person.
Perhaps that's what convinced me to buy these:
(Apologies for awful image quality - was using my phone)
At first it was a spur of the moment purchase, but I've grown to like, in fact, love these shoes. They're a part of me, a red, spiky, incredibly painful-to-walk-in extension of my body. Them may seem like 'hooker shoes' as the mother calls them, but I think really bright, alternative shoes can spice up a really simple outfit.
Picked these up from The Iconic for about 35 dollars during one of their AMAZING sales. I find out of all the on-line shops, the Iconic isn't perhaps the cheapest, but if there are brands that you really love, you can pick them up for cheap. This brand is Spurr, and has some really nifty shoes for very cheap.
You can view their latest collections at http://www.theiconic.com.au/spurr/
xx
P.S Be kind - still getting used to this 'blogging' jazz.

A New Year...
Hello!
So as part of my (rather extensive) list of New Years Resolutions (yes, that does deserve capitalisation), I am seeking to boost my CV in order to hopefully snaffle up one of the quickly disappearing media jobs in Australia. In order to do this, I thought, 'Hey, why don't I jump on the bandwagon and start a blog?'
I am currently in my third year of Communication Studies at the University of Western Australia and will be finishing my degree in the middle of this year. Hooray! Not much longer until I'm out in the real world... Although I can't decide if that will be a good thing or not.
I'm not a particularly active person; my sporting hobbies are limited by my inability to run 100 metres without dying a slow, wheezing death...Funnily enough, another one of my new years resolutions is to get fit- We'll see how long that lasts...
But I digress.
I don't like to toot my own horn, but I would like to think of myself as a teensy bit of a pro when it comes to on-line shopping. As a permanently skint student, I have to put aside my dreams of Chanel and Jean-Paul Gaultier, and resort to clothing a little bit more in my price range. On-line shopping is the perfect source for finding cheap, yet good quality clothing. Sales are incredible and you get can a tonne of stuff for not very much.
The point of this blog will to showcase some of the best deals on-line as well as some of my favourite sites and purchases.
Follow me, and hopefully find a bargain!
Bring on 2013!
